Thing 18-Social Networking on Facebook

Teaching
In 2004 my sister informed me of Facebook.  I was apprehensive at first in publicizing my entire life for all to see, but soon after became one of the many to register for a social networking account.  It has kept me in touch with many friends that I had when my husband was active in the Navy.  It has also allowed me to stay in touch with old friends from high-school and work.  I have enjoyed Facebook and the possibilities of entertainment that it provides. I also enjoy Twitter.  I have decided to attach my Twitter account below since it is something that I will use more in Education:

I believe it is important that educators know what a social networking website is and how to use it.  There is a vast amount of information for teachers on Facebook and other websites such as Twitter for Educators to take advantage of.  In 2004 I was not so sure of Facebook, but now I feel that it is a special outlet for me to keep in touch with friends and periodically "chat" with them.  I also like the specific buttons that are linked to each post.  These are: like, comment, and share on facebook.  Anyone can upload pictures, or videos to share with family and friends and comment on them.

I requested to be a friend on the APSU College of Education website. Hopefully I can stay up to date with all the wonderful posts and people that I have been in class with thus far.  I see that Dr. Hardin, Dr. Jerles, and Dr. Wall use Facebook to congratulate people and keep them informed. :0)
